FUNDS FOR SPAIN
AID FOR OPPONENTS OF FRANCO REGIME PA WELLINGTON, June 4. Trade unions are being circularised by the New Zealand Federation of Labour and asked to make financial contributions for the workers in the Basque country of Spain, who are fighting against the Franco regime. Financial aid is sought particularly for those who took part in the recent strikes in the Basque country. This announcement was made by the secretary of the federation. Mr K. Baxter, "at the annual conference yesterday, when commenting on a passage in the annual report dealing with wool for Spain.
