HOCKEY ASSOCIATION
' FORTNIGHTLY MEETING
Mr E. H. Coker was in the chair at the fortnightly meeting of the North Otago Men’s Hockey Sub-association, and there were also present Messrs D. Kennedy, N. Pinder, L. Hedges, R. Brown, I. Sherwin, P. Connors and H. E. Dowdle. The Tainui Club wrote withdrawing its team from the junior competition, and the Rovers Club was granted permission to enter a team in the junior competition. The Otago Hockey Association wrote suggesting June 21 or 28 as the date for the triangular tournament between the North Otago, South Canterbury and Otago associations. The associations also requested that these games be played at Dunedin this year. It was decided to advise the association that the North Otago Association favoured June 28. The appointment of umpires was left in the hands of the Umpires’ Association, and clubs were asked to nominate players suitable for these games, the names to be in the hands of the selector before Saturday, June 7. The secretary was instructed to write to the Waimate Club requesting that when its team had to default, the association be advised by Friday of each week. It was agreed that the Waimate Club need not default its game because of lack of players, as it could complete its team with local players. Messrs L. Hedges. R. Brown and I. Sherwin were appointed the Grading Committee.
