CLOTHES NOT DRY
MINERS REFUSE TO WORK
P.A. AUCKLAND, May 28. Because they considered their mining clothes not sufficiently dried, the miners refused to work at the Macdonald mine at Huntly to-day. The mine has been idle since Monday owing to a breakdown in the plant which supplies hot water and steam heating for the mine bath house. The boiler was repaired last night. It was lighted at 5.45 this morning, but when, the men arrived they said their mining clothes, which were kept in the bath house, were not sufficiently dried. After a short meeting, they returned to their homes. It is expected that they will resume work to-morrow.
