OVERSEAS LEAGUE
the first monthly social of the Dunedin branch of the Overseas League for the 1947 season, held on Monday night. Mr Thomas Ritchie, the honorary corresponding secretary, read the following cablegram received from the headquarters of the league in London:— " The chairman and council of the Overseas League send the Dunedin branch cordial Empire Day greetings. We rejoice to feel that you are playing' your part in fostering the ties of sentiment within the Commonwealth and Empire in the spirit so magnificently exemplified by South Africa during the Royal tour."
