STRAND THEATRE
A technicolor fantasy, “Yolanda and the Thief,” starring Fred Astaire as the debonair rogue, and lovely Lucille Bremer as the enchanting Yolanda, has pride of place in to-morrow’s new programme at the Strand Theatre. This spectacular production is a whimsical tale of romance, intrigue and money in the mythical land of Patria. Frank Morgan contributes to the mirth and merriment as Astaire’s co-conspirator in amiable skullduggery, and Leon Ames captures one of the year’s notable roles as Yolanda’s card-playing guardian angel. A newcomer to the screen, Mildred Natwich. fills an important role.
