The views of an Australian clergyman on the “ religion ” of his countrymen are quoted in the New Zealand Methodist Times, which gives the following extract from one of his sermons:—” Thd average Australian has made the horse his god. the racecourse his temple, the intoning radio racecommentator his priest, the turf-sup-plement his Bible, and money-for-nothing his heaven.”
