Negroes Spurn Half-caste Children t » Rec. 11.30 p.m. NEW YORK, Apl. 15. The intelligent Negroes of America would oppose the recent proposal by Britain that 10,000 children in that country of American Negro soldiers should be brought to the United States, declared Bishop Emery Cain, president of the George Washington Carver Hospital. _ 1 Bishop Cain said, " The intelligent Negroes of America are trying to discourage the mongrel in our race. We are proud of our race and want to preserve it. We could not be proud of these childrer and neither could the white race." He asserted that without either parent to look after them the children would become a burden on the Negro race.
