MONTHLY MEETING The Rev. L. W. Rothwell, moderator, was in the chair at a meeting of the Oamaru Presbytery yesterday morning. The Rev. J- D. Falloon was appointed moderator for the ensuing year The clerk of Assembly drew the attention of the presbytery to the resolution of the General Assembly that the standard minimum stipend be rasied to £375 as from July 1, 1947, and also that the stipend for an ordained married homemissionary be raised from £250 to £275 per annum as from July 1, 1947, and that stipends of home-missionaries in othei categories be increased by the same amount.—Referred to the treasurers of congregations. , . , . ~ The Missions Committee advised that it had approved the following home mission grant: Dunback £3O. and travelling expenses £35. , _ „ A request by the Management Committee of St. Paul’s for a quinquennial grant for church maintenance was aP The V lynod of Otago and Southland advised that the following grants had been passed:—Church maintenance, Weston, Maheno Kauru Hill, Ngapara, Enfield, Awamoko; manse maintenance, Palmerston, Enfield, Weston, Kurow, Columbia; manse reconstruction Duntroon £IOO, Palmerston £IOO. A special grant of £BSO to the Duntroon Church for manse repairs was made, in addition to the reconstruction grant.
