Richly-endowed Sprint The Brisbane Amateur Turf Club intends to stage another £IO,OOO sprint race at Doomben this year, the distance being seven furlongs, less 95 vards. It will be run on July 5. The stake equals that of the Melbourne Cup. Daughter of Old Bill Miss Bairnsfather, who finished second in each of her two races at Feilding, is described as a neat daughter of the Siegfried horse Old Bill from Praise, by Potoa from the Australian-bred Valais mare Fraisstte Frances The performance of Frances in running second to Voltaic in the Waltham Handicap was a particularly good one and confirmed the high opinion previously held of the Bulandshar marc. She carried ‘23lb overwfeight. Unusual Record Boniform, who won the Great Autumn in 1909, had an unusual record. In three seasons he was started only once in each term—the Breeders’ Plate at Randwick, the Great Northern Derby, and the Great Autumn. He retired unbeaten to begin a successful stud career.
