CLOUDY AND COOL Forecast for Otago. The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by ,the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Situation.—A ridge of high pressure is moving away to the east and a low pressure trough is advancing over the South Island. Forecast to 5 p.m to-day.—South-westerly winds, fresh at first near the coast, but otherwise moderate; some coastal showers; weather otherwise fair to cloudy and cool. Further Outlook. —Fair.
Weather in Dunedin.—Mild conditions again prevailed in Dunedin yesterday, but the sky became clouded in the late afternoon and light rain fell before midnight. Six hours and a-half of sunshine were recorded. The maximum temperature was 67.3 deg, the minimum 48.0, and the grass minimum 59.1. There was a fresh wind from the north-east. The barometer, rose in the afternoon, the midnight reading being 30.03 inches (1017' millibars).
