CONSERVATORIUM NEEDED P.A. WELLINGTON, Mar. 17. The need for a conservatorium in the Dominion at which young people could advance- their studies in music and kindred art's was stressed by delegates to the first annual conference of the New Zealand Competition Festivals Association, which is being held in Wellington. , While delegates expressed appreciation of the Government’s difficulties in establishing a conservatorium under present conditions, the opinion was expressed that too many were being forced overseas to obtain advanced tuition. . , It was decided that the association should give serious consideration to the possibility of arranging scholarships through competition societies to enable promising young performers to attend a conservatorium overseas in the meantime. %
