Viscount Montgomery Suggested For Post Of Super Planner
Rec. 8 p.m. LONDON, Mar. 17. The Government is looking for a super planner to pull industry together, and Field-Marshal Viscount Montgomery fills the bill, says the Daily Mail in a leading article. “We don’t know whether he could be spared from his military duties, nor whether he would accept the post if it were offered him, but we know the appointment would be highly popular not only with the men who fought with him, but the people generally would feel at last that a man of action was in charge. He isn’t a politician; he is a leader whose planning—real planningcontributed much to victory in war. He is a man of drive and * action, and cool self-command.”
