WEEK-END MEETINGS

Robert Wins at Cromwell SILVERSTREAM SUCCESSFUL The Cromwell Jockey Club’s annual race meeting was concluded on Saturday in perfect weather and there was a splendid attendance. The track was again in excellent order and some fast times were recorded. Except the President’s Handicap, in which there were only ftiree starters and the margins were wide, the racing was full of interest. Robert won the principal event, the R. R. McDonald Memorial Handicap, decisively, and in -a close finish Red Prize won the Farewell Handicap. The meeting will go down on the records as one of the most successful in the history of the club.

The totalisator handled £IO,OOO 10s compared with £ 9240 on the corresponding day last year. The total for the meeting was £17,259 10s, compared with £15,325.
