THE CROMWELL MEETING
Gold Lance Wins Big Race TRACK IN FINE ORDER Special Reporter. CROMWELL, Mar. 7. The Cromwell Jockey Club’s meeting was opened to-day in brilliant sunshine, and it was the unanimous opinion of old patrons of the meeting that to-day’s racing was among the best that the club has ever experienced. Since the last meeting the club has carried out many improvements, the most important being the irrigating of the track, which has never been in better order and carries a nice sole of grass with the result that there was an entire absence of dust.
