AMERICA SEEKS TREATY' WASHINGTON, Jan. 20. The Under-secretary of State, Mr William Clayton, in' a letter to Con-- ' gressman Emanuel Celler (DemocratNew York), disclosed that the State •) Department has discussed a trade l treaty with India. The United States would like to arrange a treaty with India as soon as India clarifies, her commercial relationship with Britain, Mr Clayton said. "The State Depart-’ ment will take' advantage of any fav-I ' ourable opportunity ■to urge on the Government of India the desirability: of the early conclusion of such a! treaty,” he added. •
