PRICES REMAIN FIRM (Special) OAMARU, Jan. 7. Prices for both prime fat cattle and fat sheep at the Waiareka sale to-day remained firm on late rates, with prices for unfinished types slightly easier. There were good yardings of fat cattle and fat sheep, with a small yarding of store sheep. No store cattle or fat lambs were offered. There was a large yarding of pigs, with prices back. Quotations were as follows: Fat Cattle.—Steers: Prime, £2l 15s to £23; medium, £l9 to £2O; light, £l6 to £lB. Heifers: Prime, £l7 ss; medium, £l4 to £l6: light, £ll 10s to £l3. Cows: Prime, £l2 to £l4; light, £8 to £lO. Fat Sheep.— Wethers: Extra prime, 40s; prime, 37s to 38s 6d; medium, 34s to 365; light, 31s to 335. Ewes: Prime, 21s to 235; light, 17s to 20s. Store Sheep—Two-tooth wethers, 255, ewes and lambs, 21s. Dairy Cattle—Cows, £8 to £l2. Pigs, 27s to 41s 6d.
