DEATH DURING TRIAL

TOKIO, Jan, 6. Admiral Osami Nagano, chief of the Japanese Navy General Staff at the time of Pearl Harbour, died from acute bronchial pneumonia in the Sugamo prison. He was one of the accused before the War Crimes Tribunal and the second defendant to die since June. The other was the former Foreign Minister, Yosuke Matsuoka.
