OVER THREE MILLIONS

Holiday Betting Figures Betting on racing and trotting meetings during the holiday period reached a total of £3,199,210 10s, an increase over the total recorded for the same period in 1945-46 of £340,623 10s. Totalisators at meetings held during New Year week—-from December 28 to January 4—handled £1,930,765 10s, compared with £1,768,807 10s. Practically throughout the period figures were heavier than a year ago, only two or three meetings showing a decrease.
