BLACK.—On January 5, 1947. Peter Law. son of the late James and Elizabeth Black, of Gimmerburn, and brother of Mrs J. Davis, Mrs E. Travis, and Miss Annie Black: in his seventieth year.

BRUNTON.—On January 3, 1947, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs F. R. Munro, 65 Hackthome road, Cashmere, Christchurch, Helen Hamilton, widow of William Brunton, late of Ashburton, and dearly loved mother of Mrs E. R.
