PROGRESS OF CHAMPIONSHIP (P.A.) PALMERSTON N., Jan. 1. The following are results of play in the Newi Zealand championship at the Dominion Chess Congress:— Fourth Round. —Steele (Wellington) drew with Scott (Wellington).
Sixth Round.—Lynch (Hastings) beat Lepviikmann (Wellington), Belton (Auckland) beat Scott (Wellington).
Seventh Round. —Lepviikmann beat Fletcher (Wellington); Settle beat Cromarty (Wanganui); Belton beat Hardy (Wellington), Beyer (Wellington) beat Christensen (Palmerston North), McGilvray (Dunedin) beat Cole (Nelson), Scott drew with Lynch (Hastings) . Eighth Round—Lynch beat Hardy, Cromarty beat Cole, Belton beat McGilvray, Scott drew with Fletcher, Lepviikmann • beat Beyer, Christensen drew with Steele.
