BUILDING FIGURES
PERMITS FOR YEAR VALUED AT NEARLY £1,000,000 Building permits to a total value of nearly £1,000,000 were issued by the city engifteer’s office for the. year from January to December, 1946. The number of permits issued was 938, the total vahie being £997,970. The corresponding figures for the year from January to December, 1945, were 981 permits of a value of £653,531. During the month of December, 1946, 78 permits were issued, the total value being £273,171, These included permits for eight new dwellings, of a value of £14,040, 45 additions and alterations to dwellings to a value of £2790, and alterations and additions to 24 other buildings to ' a value of £256,117. This figure includes £233,155 for additions to the Medical School. In December, 1945, 79 permits were issued, the value being £59,853.
