FAIR WITH MILD TEMPERATURES Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in M Wellington:— ■ M Situation.—An anti-cyclone centred to the north covers New Zealand. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Mode-rate variable winds, north-easterlies predominating near the coast; fair, but cloud increasing; tures mild. Weather in Dunedin.— 1 the old year was rainy and overcast, sun being recorded. The perature was 53.6 deg and the minimumvp 46.8 deg, with a grass minimum of 45deg. No rain was recorded during the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m., but 0.36 in fell during the day. The wind was north-easterly,’ changing to southerly. Yesterday was fine and sunny, the cloud increasing in the late afternoon. There were lOhr 24min of sunshine recorded, and the maximum temperature was 62.4 deg. The minimum was 46.3 deg and the grass minimum • 42.3 deg. There was a light westerly wind in the morning, becoming brisker in the afternoon. At midnight the barometer was rising at 29.8 in (1011. millibars). Summary for December The following is a summary of: the weather records taken in Dunedin during the month of December:—

Average maximum, 54.8 deg; average air minimum,. 42.6 deg; average grass minimum, 37.5 deg; highest recorded, 88.9 deg (February 8); lowest recorded—air 30.3 deg (October 21) grass 19.0 deg (June 8).
