ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
KICKED BY STEER During a steer-riding contest at Owaka on Monday, D. Burgess, of Tarara, was thrown from a steer, which then kicked him on the head He was admitted to the Dunedin H9Spital suffering from severe head injuries. FALL ON STAIRS Gustav Johnson, aged 52, residing at 303 King street, was admitted Hospital at noon yesterday suffering from a fractured left ankle and injuries to the spine received when he fell on the stairs at his home. DEATH FROM INJURIES (P.A.) MASTERTON, Jan. I.' Mrs Winifred Emily Buchanan, aged 40. of Masterton, received severe head injuries from which she died in the Masterton Hospital some hours after her admission when she was struck by a car while crossing a street.
