FEDERAL AUTHORITY BLAMED
UNFAIRNESS OVER SUPPLIES ALBANY, Oct. 20. Mr Dewey refused to call a special session of the State Legislature to alleviate the housing situation as requested by the ex-servicemen who took over the Sta*e Senate Chamber yesterday. Mr Dewey blamed the Federal Government for hampering the State housing programme by grabbing materials. A deputation of ex-servicemen, after hearing Mr Dewey's decision, adjourned the “ veterans' senate." and the men marched out in formation from the Senate Chamber, in which they had been encamped for 23 hours.
