HILLSIDE EMPLOYEES
ADDRESS BY PRIME MINISTER A brief address on Labour’s record in the past 11 years and its future policy was given by the Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, at the Hillside Workshops yesterday. .Mr Fraser was escorted to the platform by a band, and was given an enthusiastic reception by 1200 employees. The Prime Minister was introduced by the workshops manager, Mr E. Latimer, and during the meeting the secretary of the Hillside Campaign Commititee (Mr E. W. Wilson) presented a cheque for £3OO to Mr F. Percy, secretary-organiser of the Dunedin Campaign Committee, as a progress payment towards election funds. Short addresses were given by the Minister of Defence, Mr Jones, Mr R. Walls. M.P., and Mr P. G. Connolly, M.P. Musical items were also given, and qt the conclusion of the meeting a vote of confidence in the Prime Minister and his party was carried unanimously.
