BLOMFIELD BEATS SMALL
(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH. Oct. 3. “ Lofty ” Blomfield, 16st 91b, beat" Babe Small, 16st 61b, to-night in one of the brightest wrestling bouts seen in Christchurch this year. The contest was marked by plenty of showmanship by Small, who became unpopular early in the bout. In the second round Small gained a fall with a half-Boston crab followed by a step-over toe*hold. In the fifth round Small became involved in a mlx-up with the referee, who awarded a penalty fall to Blomfield In the seventh round Blomfield gained the deciding fall with his octopus clamp.
