PEACE FOR INDONESIA BATAVIA, Aug. 29. After the visit of Lord Killearn to Dr Sjahrir in Jogjakarta, it was announced that Indonesian officers were being sent to Allied headquarters to discuss a truce. The conference between Lord Killearn and Dr Sjahrir also resulted n the latter agreeing to issue further orders that adequate steps be taken to protect Chinese and Indian Indies minorities from persecution. Lord Killearn is reported to be hopeful about the British effort to bring the Dutch and Indonesians together for renewed negotiations before the arrival of the Dutch CommisisonerGcneral.
