POSTMEN’S DRIVE
FOOD FOR BRITAIN CAMPAIGN COLLECTION OF COUPONS Authority has been received by the chief postmaster (Mr Ernest J. Smith i to extend the period for the collection of coupons in the special drive for the Food for Britain Campaign until September 7. In Dunedin city and suburbs the postmen have agreed to take charge of coupons handed to them by householders. These coupons will be placed in special envelopes by the post; men and delivered to the rationing branch at the Chief Post Office, Dunedin.
The postmen are readily co-opera iing in this additional duty, and already there has been a response by householders to this novel form of collection. Last week’s returns showed
