CHINESE SHIPS SEIZED
ALLEGATION OF GUN-RUNNING (Rec. 7.30 p.m.) SINGAPORE, Aug. 15. The Overseas Chinese Importers and Exporters’ Association has accused the Dutch Navy of confiscating cargoes bought in the Netherlands, and has announced the suspension of trade with the islands. Dutch sources admitted that Chinese ships had been seized in the Netherlands Indies, but stated that the vessels were carrying illegal cargoes of firearms.
