OWNERS TO ASSIST
IRON AND STEEL CONTROL (Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 15. '
The Iron and Steel Federation has consented to co-operate in the formation and activities of the new Iron and Steel Control Board, says The Times. It is understood that the decision is the result of recent discussions in which the presence of the South African magnate, Mr Van Der Bijl, has been of great assistance. The agreement to co-operate is on the specific understanding that members of the board will not be under an obligation to give advice on nationalisation.
