SALE OF BLOOD STOCK
' FEW OFFERINGS SOLD (Special). CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 16. A sale of horses held to-day was verytame as out of 27 in the catalogue only 11 were hold. The top price of 450 guineas was paid by Mr M. R. Queeree, Wellington, for Cramond Bay, while for the brood mare Chiding Mr J. Clothier, Matamata, paid 320 guineas. Mr J. S. Shaw bought Tropical Night privately after he had been passed at 200 guineas. Mr P. Louis, Wellington, sold three, Sandy Cape being taken by Mr W. P. Hogan, Washdyke, as agent at 30 guineas, Battle Chief by Mr G. S. Barr, Riccarton, at 55 guineas, and Flying Hawk by Mrs A T Frampton, Ashburton, at 40 guineas. ' Other sales included a Nightly—Royal Rank gelding to Mr G. W. Moore. Hawera, at 50 guineas and Adieu to Mr W. O Neill, Dunedin, at 81 guineas.
