MAINLY FAIR ' Forecast for’ Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by .the Meteorological Office in Wellington Situation.—A deep depression situated north-east of the Chatham Islands is moving away, while a trough of low, pressure is moving on to the south Island from the west. Forecast up to 5 p.m. To-day.— Winds from a westerly quarter, fresh or strong on the coast, hut moderate inland; a few showers on the coast, but weather mainly fair elsewhere;
