PICTURE THEATRES
KERRIDGE-RANK INTERESTS WILLIAMSON CHAIN ACQUIRED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 10. The Kerridge-Rank theatre interests in New Zealand have acquired the J. C. Williamson Picture Corporation, Ltd., chain of cinemas throughout the Dominion. Reports to this effect were confirmed by the managing director of Kerridge-Rank Theatres, Mr R. J. Kerridge “We have been associated with the Wiliamson Picture Corporation for a number of years,” said Mr Kerridge, “ and the transaction gives us control of the Williamson picture theatres. We have acquired 16 A grade theatres in various centres of the Dominion and some others.” The administration of the former Williamson theatres would be transferred from Wellington to Auckland as soon as the change could be conveniently made.
