PROGRESS MAINTAINED

INSTITUTE OF SECRETARIES The fifteenth annual meeting of the Otago Chapter of the New Zealand Institute of Secretaries was held in the R.S.A. Hall on Monday, Mr J. Jacobs, vice-chair-man, presided over a good attendance of members.

In moving the adoption of the report for the year the chairman referred to the continued progress of the institute and commented on the increasing number of candidates sitting its examinations. The luncheon addresses during the year had provided an attractive form of meeting, and the syllabus sub-committee was instructed to continue the programme during the coming year. The following were elected to the committee:—Messrs H. E. Read (chairman), J. R. Fraser (vice-chairman), N. Pollok, T. Marlowe. M. J. Boardman, A. C. Stewart, G. A. McPherson, S. H. Foote and J. Jacobs; the auditor, Mr C. Penman, and the secretary, Mr G. S. Edgar, were reelected.

A vote of thanks was passed to the retiring members of the committee and to the secretary for his work during the year.
