OTAGO HUNT CLUB
MEET AT GREEN ISLAND The weekly run of the Otago Hunt Clut> was held in ideal conditions on Saturday afternoon at Brighton road, Green Island, over the properties of Messrs Kerr, McCraw, Hansen and Crawford Bros. There was a good attendance of followers and spectators. The going was excellent, and, owing to parts of the properties being under cultivation, the course was altered to provide a welcome variety from the usual run over this country. Mr W. Morland on Gay Diane was- the master, and was assisted by Miss E. Batham on Captain as deputy. Jumping competitions were held over three flights of post and rails after the hunt, the judge being Mr W. Russill. The results were as follows:
Novice Riders.—Miss R. Stephens 1, Mr G. Lloyd 2, Miss M. Hall 3. Eight competitors.
Open Hunters.—Betty (R. Fox) 7, Sally Mine (Miss G. Gorton) 2. Bambi (R. Fox) 3. Nine competitors. Dual Jumping Competition.—Dlctatoi (J. McCulloch) and Sonnee (D. Shaw) 1, Betty (R. Fox) and Bambi (I. Pollock) 2, Tobin (F. Gorton) and Sally Mine (Miss G. Gorton) 3. A steeplechase for gentlemen riders has been included in the Otago Hunt Club’s programme for the annual race meeting, to be held on September 7, and Intending competitors should get in touch with the secretary or the master regarding the registration of their mounts.
