MEETING IN WASHINGTON DOMINION REPRESENTATIVE (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH. July 26. Professor R. S. Allen, D.Sc. (N.Z.). professor of geology at Canterbury College, has been selected by the Royal Society of New Zealand to attend the meetings of the National Academy of Sciences (Washington) and the American Philosophical Society in October. Professor Allen, who is aged 45. is an 1851 Exhibition science research scholar and a national research scholar. He has written about 35 papers, mainly on the relationships of science, methodology, university administration, and policy libraries and museums, child psychology and psychotherapy. Professor Allen is a member of the Academic Board of the University of New Zealand, deputy chairman of the Professorial Board, which he represents on the College Council, and secretary to the Board of Managers of the University of New Zealand, a past president of the Canterbury branch of the Royal Society of New Zealand, and honorary paleontologist to the Canterbury Museum. ,
