AOTEA TOURNAMENT
The Aotea Table Tennis Club’s open tournament was continued on Thursday night, when the following events were decided: —
Men’s C and D Grade Handicap Singles. Final: W. Wyatt (Training College rec. 5) beat J. Grey (Hillside rec. 7) 28—19, 20—23, 23—11.
Men’s C and D Grade Handicap Doubles. Final: S. Walker and W. Wyatt (Training College rec. 5) beat J. Joynt and G. Wilkinson (Training College rec. 8) 24 —17, 24—19.
Women’s Championship Doubles.—Final: E. Walkinshaw and B. Hand (North-East Valley) beat M. Duckworth and E. Riach (North-East Valley) 16—21, 21—14, 21—15. Women’s C and D Grade Handicap Singles.—Final: B. Sparrow (Training College rec. 5) beat M. Bruce (St. Leonards rec. 8) 24—14, 17—24, 24—13. All the other events were advanced to either the quarter or semi-finals, and these, together with the Mixed Championship Doubles, will be played next Thursday night.
