RATEPAYERS MEET
ANDERSON'S BAY DISTRICT At the monthly meeting of the executive of the Anderson’s Bay Ratepayers’ Association Mr R. A. Mitchell presided. The secretary read a letter from the Roslyn Ratepayers’ and Householders’ Association, which dealt with a proposal to form a confederation of ratepayers of New Zealand.—The matter was fully discussed, and the members unanimously agreed that they were not interested in the proposal, as it woulij serve no useful purpose. It was agreed that the secretary should make further representations to the City Council concerning Jeffery street, and that he should also inquire what the system of destination signs will be for trolley buses. It was agreed that the . association should grant £lO to the Dunedin Amenities Society immediately the work on the approach to the cemetery and the crematorium was commenced.
The chairman reported that the matter of the reclamation of the inlet was receiving every attention. A further report would be made in the near future. It was agreed that the chairman and secretary should go into the question of selecting a suitable site for the building of a hall. The secretary reported that as a result of the collectors’ canvass of the district the membership had now reached a total of 500.
