HERD-TESTING TRAINEES
MEN REPLACE WOMEN “ This is the first occasion since prewar days that herd-testing trainees in New Zealand have consisted entirely of men,” declared Professor W. Riddet in addressing 80 trainees at the opening of this year’s course at Massey Agricultural College. “It rests with you young men to uphold the high standard of willingness and general helpfulness established by the women, of whom more than 300 were trained here and served the farming community during the war while many of you were away doing another job.”. Fiftysix of the trainees are ex-servicemen.
