HEAVY LOSS OF COAL

NEW SOUTH WALES MINES FOUR THOUSAND MEN IDLE (Rec. 11.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 25. Though the men of six south coast mines failed to resume work to-day in spite of their leaders’ direction to do so, the Central Industrial Authority decided to continue the hearing of the miners' compensation claims. Throughout New South Wales to-day 4000 men are idle at 21 collieries for the loss of 13,000 tons of coal, swelling the week's loss to 65,000 tons. It is expected that the total loss for the week, which has two days to go. will be the highest for two years.
