ELECTRICAL INDUSTRY
NATIONALISATION OPPOSED (Rec. 0.30 a.m.) LONDON. July 25. Electricity supply companies have refused to assist the Minister t of Fuel and Power, Mr Emanuel Shinwell, in framing his Bill for the nationalisation of the industry. This is revealed in letters exchanged between Mr Shinwell and the companies’ association, says The Times. The companies declined because it would be inconsistent with their belief that the country would suffer by the change. They say that no case for nationalisation has so far been disclosed. The Government should disclose its proposals, they say. and show why they are in the national interest. \
