AMATEUR BOXING
TOURNAMENT ON MONDAY The 24 entries' received for the Otago boxing championships, to be held in the Concert Chamber on Monday next, represent the best boxing talent in Otago at the present time. All the amateurs are very fit. and as the team for the New Zealand boxing championships will be chosen from these performers all the competitors will be keen on catching the selector’s eye. Leight-weight.—C. Kerr v, M, Leckie, L. Salmon v. J. Ramsay, J. Dobson a bye. Welter-weight.—G. Donaldson v. I. Dlckison, J. Ramsay v. .1. Cruickshanks. Middle-weight.—J. Anderson v. G. Bowman, R. Chooque v. Gardener, I. Dickison a bye. Heavy-weight,—C. J. Brown v. K. Skinner.
Interprovincial Contest The Otago Boxing Association' has approved of August 5 as the date for the interprovincial contest between Otago and Canterbury at Dunedin for the Waironga Shield. School Tournaments The association has also approved of the following dates for school tournaments—August 7, Christian Brothers’ High School; August ft, John McGlashan Col lege. New Zealand Championships The New Zealand championships will be held at Auckland on September 23, 24 and 25.
