MIXED MASH DISCUSSED CONCERN OVER SUPPLIES A meeting of the executive of the OtagoSouthland Provincial Association of Registered Poultry Keepers was held yesterday. The president, Mr D. Christie, occupied the chair, and delegates were oresent from Invercargill, Dunedin, and North Otago. Mr T. Gill, a member of the New Zealand Poultry Board, was also in attendance. Mixed Mash The principal subject of discussion was in relation to the Dominion supply position regarding mixed, mash for Mr Gill informed the meeting that food committees had been set up in the mam districts of the province to confer with the Grain Merchants’ Federation in regard to the granting of their licences for the mixing of this mash. Consideration was given to the question of the cost of the proposed mash, and the Poultry Board member was instructed to attend the Price Tribunal when it was fixing the price. Election of Poultry Board The president reported that the election of four producer-members of the Poultry Board would take place early next year, and the matter of voting procedure was fully discussed. It was agreed that the election should be carried out under the control of the four provincial councils ol the association. .. Mr Christie added that some small amendment to the Poultry Runs Registration Act was required before the election could take place, and It was expected that this amendment would be made during the present session. Supply Position

The Dunedin Egg Marketing Advisory Committee reported that' it had reviewed the supply position just prior to the recent fall 'in price and had taken appropriate steps to safeguard the interests of the producers during the falling market.
