TO FIGHT BRITAIN
JEWISH RADIO CALL
VOLUNTEERS AND ARMS "FRONT LINE OF LIBERTY" (Rec. 9 p.m.) JERUSALEM, July 7. Irgun Zvi Leumi’s secret radio, 11 Voice of Fighting Zion,” appealed to all nations for volunteers, arms, munitions, and ships with which to fight Britain. It said, “We need arms of all kinds. Without them we shal be exterminated; with them we shall be victorious. If one of us falls 10 others will rise and take his place. We will welcome volunteers against the British oppressors as brothers. The Holy Land has become the world’s front line of liberty. Come to its rescue.” Haganah’s underground radio, “The Voice of Israel,” said the Jewish resistance movement would choose its own time and its own methods to counterattack in retaliation. It claimed that the British operations were an utter failure. It declared that 25,000 men participated in the operation designed to uproot Haganah, but “the framework and High Command of Haganah were untouched.”
The Arab Higher Committee, after a three-hour meeting, decided to appeal to the Palestine Government to release all Arab exiles and bring the arrested Jewish leaders before military courts.
