TYRES AND TUBES
SHIPMENTS FROM AUSTRALIA MELBOURNE, July 8. Although the release of motor tyres and tubes will be restricted, and prices have been increased as from to-day, large shipments are being sent to New Zealand. Motorists’ organisations have been told that this is Government policy, because there is not a tyre manufacturer in New Zealand. Motorists, who claimed that the reserves in Melbourne were far higher than warranted, were told that Melbourne was the centre of tyre manufacture, and that stocks were being held for imported cars.
