FIRE BRIGADE CALLS
An engine from the City Fire Brigade answered a call to Union street at 11.46 a.m. on Saturday, when the outhouses and contents of a six-roomed house were badly damaged. The fire started from a spark from a copper fire. The brigade also attended a fire in Vogel street on a corporation porttable toolbox on Saturday at 5.29 a.m. The box was slightly damaged. A call to a scrub fire at Normanby was answered at 11.58 p.m.
