Applicants should be Corporate Members of the Institute of Electrical Engineers, and be Registered Engineers. Experience in design work on high voltage power system is essential. Duties include design, specification, and layout work in the Electrical Design Office in connection with electrical plant and equipment for power stations and substations. Applicants should be qualified Electrical Engineers, and preferably have had field experience on power station and sub-station work. ASSISTANT ELECTRICAL ENGINEER—-£34O-380. Duties include assisting in design and calculation work in Electrical Design Office in connection with electrical plant and equipment for Power Stations and sub-stations. Applicants should hold a University Degree or equivalent engineering examination. ELECTRICAL DRAUGHTSMAN—£34O- - (commencing salary according to qualifications and experience). Duties include preparation of layouts of indoor and outdoor high voltage switchgear, control and instrument panels, wiring diagrams, cable diagrams etc. Experience in the foregoing is not essential, but applicants should possess draughting experience and sufficient general knowledge of electrical equipment to enable them to adapt themselves to this class of work. PURCHASING SECTION ELECTRICAL ENGINEER—£4IO-435. Duties include preparation of specifications, and consideration of tenders and quotations for purchase of electrical plant, equipment, and materials for power stations, sub-stations and transmission lines. Applicants should be qualified Electrical Engineers, and preferably have had field experience on hydro-electric schemes, NOTE: Appointee will not be kept on purchasing duties indefinitely, but will be interchanged with Electrical Engineers on other technical duties. TECHNICAL ASSISTANT—£34O-435 (commencing salary according to qualifications and experience) Duties include assisting in work connected with the technical aspects of the purchase of electrical plant, equipment and materials required for power stations, sub-stations, and transmission lines. Applicants should have a general knowledge of such piant, and experience in a commercial firm or similar class of work would be an advantage. TRANSMISSION LINE SECTION TECHNICAL ASSISTANT—£34O-435 (commencing salary according to qualifications and experience). Duties include assisting in mechanical design, and calculations of high voltage transmission lines. Applicants should preferably have a general knowledge of such work. DRAUGHTSMAN—£34O-485 (commencing salary according to qualifications and experience). Duties include general draughting work in connection with transmission line towers, structures, route plans, etc. Experience in such work Is not essential, but a general knowledge of transmission line practice is desirable.
