GROUP-CAPTAIN WILKES
RETIREMENT ANNOUNCED (PA.) WELLINGTON, June 12. The retirement of Group Captain T. M Wilkes was announced to-day by the Minister of Defence, Mr F. Jones. The Minister paid a tr'bute to the service to aviation In New Zealand given by Group Captain Wilkes during his 35 years with the forces. Among other appointments he had held the posts of Director of Air Services and Controller of Civil Aviation.
