SPORTING INNOVATION
TEAMS MAY TRAVEL BY AIR PROPOSAL TO CHARTER PLANE (P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 12. The first New Zealand sports teams to fly to their matches will probably be the two Auckland representative Association football elevens which have been invited to Wellington. The two teams will be the senior representative team and a team of players under 21 years who are expected to meet equivalent Wellington teams for the Frank Campbell Rose Bowl and the Flyger Cup respectively on June
29. If the Auckland Association is agreeable, the Wellington Association will propose that a 24-seater aeroplane be chartered. Only 12 players would be able to travel with each team. They would leave Whenuapai at 9 a.m. and arrive at Paraparaumu at 10.30 a.m. on the day proposed for the match. They would fly home on Sunday.
