CONDITIONS FAIR Forecast lor Otago. The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in-Wellington Situation.—A deep depression is centred south of Campbell Island. An anti-cyclone extends from Eastern Australia on to the North Tasman. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—South-westerly to westerly winds, fresh at first on parts of the coast, but light to moderate inland; a few showers persisting about South Otago at first, but weather otherwise fair, though rather cold. Further Outlook. Fair westerly conditions. t Weather in Dunedin. —Only one point of rain was recorded in Dunedin for the 24-hour period which ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday, but there were several heavy showers in the afternoon. Temperatures were lower than on the previous day, tne maximum being 49.4, and the minimum on the grass was 40.3. There was a light south-west wind in the morning, but it changed to the north-east in the afternoon and freshened. Only 12 minutes of sunshine were recorded. The barometer, which had been steady until after midday, continued to rise slowly during the remainder of the day, and at midnight stood at 29.59’inches (1002 millibars).
